Spotify Advertising:
A Song for Every CMO

Spotify knows everything about you. Your favorite roadtrip podcasts. Your favorite songs to work out to. Your favorite songs to do other… stuff… to… Pretty much everything. All that data means that it’s a great platform to deliver hyper-targeted ads. We wanted advertising decision makers to feel what it was like to have a message tailored specifically to them. So we did what you do when you’re Spotify: we dropped a new Spotify playlist.

There was no choice. We had to do the Pure Moods/Jock Jams infomercial.

The songs are collected in the “A Song for Every CMO” playlist, embedded below.

Each song was written in the style of the CMO’s favorite genre of music and lyrics were inspired by their achievements (and their data).

Each song came with its own bespoke album cover art.

Each CMO received a platinum record commemorating their achievements in marketing.
